What WE
Believe
We believe the Bible, Old and New Testaments, to be God's revealed Word to man, given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, infallible, and the supreme and final authority by which all human opinions, creeds or conduct shall be tried and judged. (2Tim 3:16)
We believe that Scripture teaches that there is only one true and living God who has chosen to reveal Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; co-existent and co-eternal. (Gen 1:26, Deut 6:4, Isa 43:10-11, Mat 28:19, Luke 3:22)
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. (Gen 1:26, Gen 2:17, Rom 3:23, Heb 9:27)
We believe that man, being sinful is in need of redemption. (Gen 3:1-7, Psalm 51:5, Ecc 7:29, John 6:44, Rom 5:12-21)
We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell (Rev 20:15).
We believe that all mankind is subject to the death of the body as a result of original sin. The soul and spirit do not die, but immediately after death enter into eternal life with God, or eternal death without Him. (Ecc 12:7, Rom 5:12, Phil 1:23, 2 Cor 5:8-10)
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and the son of man, that He came to save man from condemnation of sin by offering His blood as an atonement, once and for all, making it available to all who exercise faith in Him. (Mat 1:23, Luke 1:31 & 35, John 3:16, 1 Cor 15:3; 2nd Cor 5:21)
We believe in a "Believer's Baptism". That is baptism by immersion in water. However, baptism in itself does not produce nor is required for salvation. ( Matt 28:10-20).
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a second experience subsequent to salvation for believers who have already been born again, and is given to believers who ask the Lord for it. (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:4, Acts 8:14-17)
We believe the Holy Spirit is sent to empower the believer to be an effective witness, to equip the believer to come to full maturity in Christ, and to enable the believer to carry out the Great Commission commanded by Jesus. (Mark 16:19, Acts 1:8)
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (Romans 8:5, Phil 2:12 & 13, 1 Thes 4:3 & 4)
We believe the redemptive work of Jesus, through the stripes He bore on His body and His shed blood and death on the Cross provides healing for all men of man's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in answer to believing prayer. (Isa 53:4 & 5, James 5:14 & 15, 1 Pet 2:24)
We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thes 4:13-18).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to everlasting life and the lost without Christ to everlasting damnation. (Mat 25:31, Acts 24:15, Revelation 22:11)
